Rules of Safe Play for Inflatables
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure safe use of the equipment. Your signature on the booking form indicates your acceptance of this and your agreement to abide by these Rules of Safe Play at all times.
1) The age limit on our units are specified on the website and this will be reiterated to you on delivery. Please ensure no-one over this age uses the equipment.
DO’S AND DON’TS
2) NO food or drink. NO sweets or sticky stuff. NO balloons (burst balloons and strings can be a choking hazard).
3) NO shoes. NO sharp objects, eg, badges, large earrings, necklaces etc. NO glasses/spectacles or plastic alice bands.
4) NO confetti, party-poppers, coloured streamers, "silly string" or henna as these can permanently stain.
5) NO smoking or barbecues ON OR NEAR the equipment. NO glass or animals on the equipment.
6) NO climbing, hanging, sitting on the walls or roof of inflatables. NO reckless or boisterous behaviour.
7) SAFETY MATS must remain in place (where they were put by the operator on set up).
8) FACEPAINTS must be professional grade (eg, Snazaroo) and should be DRY before use of the equipment.
9) SLIDES must be used one at a time, in a sitting position, feet first. DO NOT climb on the sides or jump from the top.
10) The FRONT STEP is there to help users get on and off the inflatable and must NOT be bounced on.
SUPERVISION
11) A responsible adult (over 18) MUST supervise the equipment AT ALL TIMES.
A1Events' public liability insurance (£5million) covers the equipment itself (that it is fit for purpose), the correct set up of the equipment and supervision of the equipment by A1Events staff. A1Events insurance does not cover accident or incident due to misuse of the equipment when under the client’s supervision.
12) The maximum number of users is clearly displayed on a certificate attached to the side of the inflatable. It is the job of the supervising adult to ensure that the inflatable is not overcrowded and limit the numbers depending on the age and size of the users. If the users are colliding into each other then it is too crowded.
13) Anyone who is pregnant or with a history of back or neck problems or a heart condition should not use the inflatable.
14) Anyone who is under the influence of drugs (prescription or otherwise) must not use the equipment.
15) Do not allow users to be on the unit during inflation or deflation. In the event of unexpected deflation, the supervising adult should quickly and calmly assist all users to exit the inflatable. There is plenty of time for this and other adults should NOT run on to the inflatable to assist as this will increase the likelihood of injury.
16) Inflatable equipment MUST remain secured to the ground at all times and must not be moved.
17) A1Events must be advised as soon as possible in the event of any injury requiring professional medical treatment. Treatment must be sought within 2 hours of the injury occurring and a detailed record of the incident and treatment must be provided to A1Events.
RAIN / ADVERSE WEATHER
18) In the event of rain, please leave the inflatable SWITCHED ON. The only exception to this is in a lightning storm, when the inflatable should be switched off and the fan taken indoors if possible.
19) The equipment MUST NOT BE USED WHEN WET as it will be slippery and accidents are likely to occur. When the rain stops please dry the equipment with a towel before use.
20) In the event of high WIND, the inflatable MUST BE SWITCHED OFF. If the wind speed reaches gale force 5 / 24mph, it becomes extremely dangerous for the inflatable to remain switched on; if in doubt please switch off and then call us for further advice. A1Events will not set up inflatables in winds exceeding 24mph. Wind speeds change continuously throughout the day and so it is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that inflatables are not used if wind speeds do go over 24mph.
DISCLAIMER Please note that all persons using this equipment do so at their own risk. The person/organization hiring the equipment will be responsible/liable for any damage or injury occurring from or as a result of misuse or reckless use. Any damage to the equipment supplied, or missing items, will be billed accordingly. These guidelines are for the safety of all people using this equipment, and it is the sole responsibility of the hirer to ensure they are adhered to.
Provided that the equipment is used in accordance with the above guidelines and conditions of hire, those using the inflatable should do so safely. However, accidents can happen. A1Events can accept no liability for injuries sustained or any other loss, howsoever caused, in the absence of the negligence of A1Events or its employees. As the equipment will be in the hirer’s possession and control whilst in use rather than A1Events, any liability for injuries or other losses caused other than in the circumstances described above rests with the hirer. Accordingly, it is strongly recommended that the hirer has adequate public liability insurance covering his or her liability arising from the use of the inflatable.
